Air Drying (AD)
What is Air Drying (AD)?
Air Drying (AD) is a method of drying various materials by passing heated air over them to remove moisture. The process involves blowing air, typically at temperatures ranging from 50 to 80 degrees Celsius, over the material being dried. The air causes the moisture in the material to evaporate and be carried away by the airflow.
Air Drying is commonly used in industrial applications to dry food products, such as grains, fruits, vegetables, and meats, as well as non-food products like textiles, paper, and wood. It is also used in the production of pharmaceuticals and chemicals.
There are different types of Air Dryers, such as tray dryers, tunnel dryers, and fluidized bed dryers, which are designed for specific types of materials and production volumes.
Air Drying can be an efficient and cost-effective method of drying, as it can reduce drying times and energy consumption compared to other methods. However, it is important to carefully control the temperature and airflow to avoid damaging the material being dried.
